Kinds of Research

There are many different types and methods of research.  The main 4 include primary, secondary, quantitative and qualitative research.
Primary research
This consists of physical ly collecting the information yourself using methods suxh as interviewing,  surveys,  and taking pictures or videos(these are also part of another type of research which I will talk about later)
Secondary reasearch
This is when the information is collected via a ready made source. All online information can be considered as secondary because the information is not self composed. (Pictures, videos, comments, interviews are examples of information you can find online)

Quantitative research
This is mainly the information having to do with facts and figures. In primary research surveys are a common way of collecting this type of research data.  Information such as age, gender and ethnicity are commonly collected as this type of research data. In secondary research the results are more likely to be for example, the number of hits/views on a website or video, how much money was made on the subject. You are more likely to gather this data via secondary resources

Qualitative research
This type deals with the more wordy areas of research such as specific thoughts and feelings. It commonly includes comments, interviews and certain survey type questions. It is you collect this data through physical means(primary research) in order to raise the credibility of the data gathered
